A collaboration between the Children’s Trust of Alachua County and Goodwill Industries of North Florida, The TeensWork Alachua (TWA) program provides eligible students with paid internships and job opportunities that prepare them to succeed in employment.
Students, ages 14-18, work with local businesses that offer on-the-job training and mentorship.
In addition to paid internships, students receive job readiness, financial wellness, and soft skills training along with the support of a job coach. Job coaches and mentors partner with students during onboarding, training, and navigating their work experience.

TeenWork Alachua isn’t just an opportunity for summer work. The program focuses on identifying and removing barriers to employment for students, ensuring they meet financial and career goals so they can be prepared for their future.

Employers can support TWA by requesting interns and accommodating the TWA job coach.
For our business partners, TeenWork Alachua handles student recruitment, student internship placement, orientation and payroll. Employers receive a job coach who acts as a liaison between the business and the student Supervisors then attend an employer training program prior to the students starting work.
