Mayor’s Young Leaders Advisory Council (MYLAC)

Goodwill of North Florida has partnered with the City of Jacksonville and the Kids Hope Alliance to facilitate The Mayor’s Young Leaders Advisory Council (MYLAC). MYLAC was established in 2014 and is composed of high school juniors and seniors.

MYLAC gives youth with leadership potential the opportunity to learn more about city government and effective citizenship so they can make a positive difference as young leaders. Students can earn service hours for their participation in volunteer events with the program and scholarship opportunities are available for seniors.

Seniors who successfully complete all MYLAC program requirements may be eligible to receive a Florida Prepaid Scholarship. Scholarship awards are subject to the eligibility requirements of the Florida Prepaid Foundation, including valid U.S. citizenship or legal U.S. resident with a valid Social Security number and eligible Florida residency status. Students who are not eligible for the scholarship are welcome to participate in all aspects of the MYLAC program, but will not be able to receive the scholarship award.
